Minji Choi (b. 1988) is a Korean artist, designer, and researcher, currently based in Eindhoven (NL) and Milan (IT).
She investigates the interconnections between plants symbolism in relation to gardens, landscape architecture and socio-politics, in order to explore culture through nature and manifest the vulnerable borderlines between them. By acknowledging the dignity of plants, her research aims to reframe society's multilayered relationship with nature. In doing so, she reframes the subtle boundaries between natural and artificial, the moral notions of good and bad, and the consideration for the individual and the ecosystem.
Her work embraces various mixed media such as installation, photography, painting and drawing, which she interweaves in order to deal with the complexity of the topic, according to the specificity of the context.
