The Water Garden was commissioned to be part of the WaterSchool exhibition in Milan during Salone del Mobile 2019, which is a self-initiated project by Studio Makkink & Bey.
The new water garden installation aims to celebrate water in relation to the central role it plays in allowing plants to freely grow in man-made environments. By taking the visual features of rumbustious plants as the main visual theme, the installation encourages to look at micro Nature within urbanised landscapes in a new way, interweaving the notions of natural and artificial.
